Legacy Edition 2023 book-ends the series with a tribute to those who push beyond perceived limits. Inspired by legendary big wave surfer Greg Noll – who like Hemingway, was famous for constantly pushing boundaries – this release reflects a mindset defined by courage, craft, and commitment to mastery. Nicknamed “Da Bull” and known for wearing his iconic black and white striped boardshorts, Noll is credited as the first person to surf the Third Reef Pipeline on the North Shore of Oahu, HI. We crafted this rum and the bespoke packaging to reflect his boldness, and the legacy he created. Legacy 2023 is finished in once used French Limousin oak casks -- with a small amount finished in apricot and orange bitters casks -- then blended to a tropical rum profile of sweet orange, honeysuckle, and honeydew melon. It is complex and layered, with a delicate aroma but dynamic flavor." - Ron Call, Master DistillerEach canvas-wrapped bottle includes bespoke components sourced from Noll Surfboards, including a one-of-a-kind wooden coaster and medallion crafted from real surfboard remnants. Variations in wood grain ensure that no two pieces are exactly alike. The back canvas pocket that encases the coaster is outfitted with the iconic black stripes Noll was known for.
