RUM CAKE RECIPE
INGREDIENTS
1 package yellow cake mix and corresponding ingredients
0.5 - 0.75 cups of Papa's Pilar Dark Rum
0.5 - 0.75 cups of Papa's Pilar Dark Rum
DIRECTIONS
Mix cake mix and ingredients, substitute a portion of the water with Papa's Pilar Dark Rum. Add 1 teaspoon of baking powder. Grease bottom of bundt pan. Stir cake mix and pour into bundt pan. For oven degrees and time, use cake mix instructions.
RUM GLAZE
Combine 2 cups sugar, 1 cup water, 1 stick of butter and 0.5 cup of Papa's Pilar Dark Rum.
Melt butter in a saucepan. Stir in water and sugar; boil 5 minutes stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Stir in rum.
GLAZING CAKE
Cool cake in pan for 10-15 minutes. Pole small holes on the top of the cake. Pour half of the glaze on the cake. Turn the cake over on a plate. Poke small holes again and pour remaining glaze over cake. Leave a small amount of glaze to make sure the top and sides of the cake are covered.
